European Community Project

Motivation
We would like to start the project having partners in the following fields: “Dance at school”, “Dance for/with disable”, “Artist exchange”, “Ballet competitions”, “Ballet Company chief cooperation” and “Research” or any other field with as much of importance. We aim to work with six different countries where each partners networks are including several European countries. We also find it important to find ways to involve the Romanian and Bulgarian dance world as they are new members of EU.


We find it necessary to start communication between different fields and demonstrate to partners the necessity of working together, being able to spread the knowledge of the art of dance for public/ young people and to keep alive the heritage of dance in Europe as an evolution.


We find our professional expertise and knowledge in different fields and within the networks, enough to be able to realize the idea and become helpful to all European dance and to all movements between countries.



Purpose
We will arrange meetings and conferences between partners/different fields each in their own countries, give them a possibility to make others to understand their work. We want to be helpful to convince them how everything belongs together and how to build up a structure for dance in their countries. These conferences are naturally open for all WDA members all over Europe or to anybody interested in the subject.


We want to build up a strong structure in Europe. Dance has never known any boarders and the idea of EU was familiar to dance artists even before it existed. The art of dance should also be given the same value as any other art form, at the moment it is not like this.


It should be a natural part of any countries/communities cultural planning and funding. It is important to gather all fields together to make this possible, and we can start to talk about dance without placing different fields in separate islands.


It is important for WDA Europe to gather all information and make it become available to all Europeans. WDA Europe will be able to give contacts needed for new projects, cooperation or to be a platform to their meetings.


We are planning this part of the project to last during 2009 – 2011 . We want to collect the knowledge of expanding the networks, all experiences will be collected and we will produce a manual about the process. This can function as a guide to others who want to eventually do the same in their country. Our website will become more informative and functional and through our European leaders in the office we can in future become accessible for everyone within in the European Union.
